The Business Development Manager at INC plays a key role in expanding the firm's reach. They research and maintain a database of potential clients. By coordinating proposal submissions and assisting with promotional activities, they contribute to the firm's growth. Administrative tasks include budget management, event scheduling, and maintaining the CRM system, all of which are essential for supporting the firm's success.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

Business Development

  • Contacts. Manage and maintain a comprehensive list of prospective clients via the CRM, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information to facilitate targeted communication and personalized outreach strategies.
  • Pipeline. Manage the business development pipeline via the CRM software and coordinate with the team on the production of  RFPs, RFQs, RFEIs, proposals, and presentations for the firm with the team. 
  • Meetings. Coordinate and manage business development meetings with prospective clients and weekly internal team meetings.
  • Events. Attend relevant industry events and conferences with the partners.
  • Administration. Assist partners in responding to and managing all internal & external day-to-day BD communications.

Press

  • Contacts. Manage and maintain the comprehensive press list .
  • Archive. Manage the archive press database updated quarterly.
  • Inquiries.  Manage all press inquiries and the production of deliverables with the project teams and marketing.
  • Publicist. Communicate with the publicist weekly and provide support as necessary..
  • Coordination. Coordinate Press/PR with the Marketing team on things like the company website and social media platforms.
  • Administration. Assist partners in responding to and managing all internal & external day-to-day PR and press communications.
  • Newsletters. Suggest and manage promotional emails and newsletters as necessary.
 

Promotions

  • Events. Help partners with prominent industry speaking engagements, panel discussions, competitions, etc quarterly.  Organize regular programming events to draw new groups and prospective partners into the studio.
  • Campaigns. Coordinate BD initiatives with the social media strategy and associated calendar on a weekly basis
  • Materials. Coordinate with marketing on the development and maintenance of all marketing materials (portfolios, qualifications packages, product pitch decks, brochures, etc.)
  • Digital Presence. Coordinate with marketing on updates to the website and other firm representations in the media as appropriate, reviewing monthly.
 

Administration 

  • Planning. Assist the partners in strategic planning.
  • Budgeting. Maintain an annual BD and Marketing budget in collaboration with the accounting team.
  • Calendar. In collaboration with the partners, manage a comprehensive calendar of events on a monthly basis.
  • Management. Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staffing (internal or external) of business development projects.
  • Archive. Coordinate the knowledge manager on the firm’s projects archive, collateral, and assets--using tools to manage, maintain and reference them.
  • Reporting. Provide annual and quarterly reporting against established benchmarks and trends.
 

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Journalism, Design or Architecture with 3-5 years of relevant experience in Architecture or Interior Design firm or related business
  • 4-5+ years experience in business development and some marketing.
  • Strong copywriting, communication and organizational skills
  • Software literacy is required in Google Drive/Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Constant Contact. Some experience in Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience with CRM systems.  We use Pipedrive.
 

Studio Description

INC Architecture & Design is a multi-disciplinary Architecture and Design studio, with experience in a wide range of project types located in the SoHo District of New York City. Having executed high-rise residential buildings, hotels, restaurants, galleries, retail stores, private residences, and private residential interiors, the studio specializes in the integration of architecture and interior design.

 

Benefits

This salaried position benefits begin after a three-month introductory period.  Benefits include two weeks of paid vacation, paid holidays, plus time off between Christmas and New Year’s; health, dental and vision insurance; snacks; and a 401K. The salary range for the position is $90,000 to $110,000. 

 

Taxes will be withheld from salary as per the requirements of the IRS and New York State.
